Mandji Energy Gabon (MEG) was conceived in August 2019, after the new Hydrocarbons Code of Gabon was published on 16 July 2019, incentivizing autochthonous companies to engage in the upstream oil and gas activities of the Republic of Gabon. MEG was thus formed in February 2020 and soon after engaged in the pursuit of its first Production Sharing Contract (PSC), under article 100 of the new Code that gives preference to the national operator and autochthonous companies for marginal discoveries, and marginal and mature fields.
